so we set off, not really knowing quite how long the hike actually was. i enjoyed it, but i think us first timers were a bit surprised when, after an hour of hiking, josh informed us that we were approximately 40% there. when we finally made it to the top around 12:30am, two of the guys pulled out a propane stove, a skillet, and a pound of bacon from their packs....and proceeded to fry it right then and there. i'm not normally a straigh-up bacon eater, but i did enjoy it. after hiking down down down for what felt like forever, we finally made it back home around 3.
exploring downtown before heading to the hike.
pre-hike, ready to tackle the mountain.
the view from the top...kind of. my little camera couldn't quite capture it at all.
made it!
2:30am: at the base of the mountain again, glad to be back on level ground.
it was a nice view, and the hiking felt great, but when it comes down to it, i'm just not a night-owl. i was thrown off the whole rest of the weekend! but one of these days, i'll make it back to tiger mountain to hike again and actually see the trees that i'm hiking through!
love,
tracey
