first thing this morning my friend dana sang to me over a sour patch straw, which i proceeded to "blow out" and eat. she's hilarious. then i got about 20 hugs from all my kiddos in children's ministry, and 5 year old jude (who always makes me laugh and is always giving me hugs) shouted at the top of his lungs HAPPY BIRTHDAYYYYYY when i walked in the room. i wish you all could see him, he's a little nugget of energy! after church the reeds and i headed over to the wagonhauser's to help clean (more on that in a later post), then we headed back to their house where kelsey and the gillebos met us with surprise cupcakes! katy fixed a bernheisel classic for dinner: birthday chicken (think chik-fil-a nuggets: YUM) with baked asparagus. i cut up the cupcakes and the 6 of us tried a little of each, then we hung out and talked about what jesus has done in my life in the past year and what i hope to learn in the next. at 6:45 we were off to ballard for a sermon that made me think a lot (again, more in a later post). top it all off with a late night nacho run (to indulge katy's preggo craving) for the win!
thankful for such great friends who are family to me here. it was such a great birthday doing things that i enjoy with people that i love :)
