three unrelated thoughts.
1. check out this video from mars hill's easter service at qwest field: pretty impressive.
2. i enjoy riding the bus. firstly, i get to read. i just finished 'the pursuit of holiness' by jerry bridges. i read more in the mornings than the afternoons, because they are calmer and people aren't so pushy and demanding. this morning the bus driver on my route said good morning and smiled at every person that got on- definitely not the norm, almost everyone smiled and said the same in response! this afternoon was the opposite, because it was 20mph winds and pouring down rain and everyone was cold, wet, and in a rush. i've noticed that people's ugliest tendencies come out on crowded busses and busy costco sample stands! anyway, i was fortunate enough to get a seat, which happened to be next to an old man who was talking to nobody in particular. before i knew it he was telling me all about his 6 kids and the 23 years he spent in the military, how he was in berlin when the wall was put up, how he fought in the vietnam war, was in saigon when it fell, and how he took a double hit of shrapnel and survived after blacking out from the blood loss. his stories reminded me a bit of the book catch 22. it was an interesting conversation, there's definitely something to be said for riding without headphones in. you never know what kinds of interesting people you might meet!
3. i finally went grocery shopping today, and i was hungry when i went. bad idea, i know. especially because fruit season is coming and the mangos were on sale...i don't have much self control when it comes to fresh fruits and veggies :)
that's all for now.
love,
tracey
